Who We Are
Warrington Elementary School is one of ECSD's smaller elementary schools with an enrollment just under 300 students. Located in a pocket of poverty, more than 19% of households with children in our attendance zone live below the poverty threshold of $24,957. The annual median income for student families attending WES is $22,000.
Seventy-seven percent of WES students are Black, or African American and eighteen percent are White or Caucasian. The remaining five percent are represented within two subgroups: 3% are Hispanic students and 2% identify as American Indian or Alaskan Native. Minority enrollment at Warrington Elementary School is marginally higher than the state average of 61% (majority Hispanic).
Historically, Warrington Elementary was one of the lowest performing schools in the state of Florida. However that has changed under the leadership of principal Tim Rose. Through collective efficacy, Tim Rose and the faculty and staff of WES influenced student outcomes and increased student achievement to attain a C grade for the 2022 school year.
What We Do
We believe we have the ability to make a difference in children's lives and we do.
