Who We Are

Founded in 1983, Manna is a local, grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. We provide the healthiest food possible in the form of groceries directly to individuals and families in need. Our mission is to offer emergency food assistance, service the food-related needs of vulnerable populations, and engage the entire community in the fight against hunger.

All our services are offered free of charge. We receive no government funding and have no national affiliation. Most of our funding comes from individuals, foundations, faith-based organizations, corporations, and businesses. Manna is nonsectarian, community focused, and volunteer supported. We believe every person has a right to live free of hunger and to be treated with respect and dignity.

What We Do

Manna operates an emergency food assistance pantry and 17 food security programs with 22 community partners. Our pantry service is designed to provide short-term food assistance to families and individuals in temporary crisis situations by providing a five-day supply of food. Through strategic partnerships and innovative programs, Manna fills gaps in services to children, senior citizens, veterans, and more in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Our programs/partnerships allow us to go outside our four walls and into the community to partner with other agencies that provide wrap-around services to reach some of the most vulnerable people in Northwest Florida. All food bags and boxes are packed to USDA Standards for a Healthy Diet, with the exception of the School Resource Officer Food Program which utilizes grab-n-go, ready-to-eat food items.
