After this training, participants will know how to:
o Recognize and respond to an opioid overdose.
o Understand different ways to obtain naloxone in Florida; and
o Connect individuals in need with assistance through current overdose prevention initiatives in Florida.
The current overdose crisis continues escalating, and most individuals have been affected by this crisis. In 2021, 6,442 individuals died due to opioids. Naloxone is an emergency response medication that saves lives and potentially prevents anoxic brain damage.
