Offender Accountability in Family Violence Cases covers how beliefs about survivors can adversely impact outcomes of an investigation. The alleged offender and their behavior is the source of the risk and safety concerns for the child. A non-offending caregiver nor the child should have blame placed on them for any allegations of abuse. This training will also cover the ways in which manipulative behavior can lead to a misunderstanding of events and how to recognize and document that behavior. Accountability from a child protective
investigation standpoint means thinking critically by challenging assumptions, asking smart questions and providing thorough documentation.
