United Way of West Florida fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community. Through the IRS-certified VITA program, we help hardworking individuals and families in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties save money on tax preparation fees and access the refunds and credits they've earned.
About the Role
VITA Tax Preparers work directly with community members to complete individual tax returns using IRS-approved software. No prior tax or accounting experience is required. All volunteers receive free IRS certification and hands-on support.
What You’ll Do
Prepare federal tax returns
Work one-on-one with taxpayers
Use professional tax software (training included)
Ensure accuracy through the IRS Quality Review process
Provide supportive, friendly customer service
Help connect clients to financial stability resources
Training Provided (Free)

In-person and online training options
Practice returns and guided learning
On-site support throughout the season
