What We Do

Mission - SSA is a launching pad for teaching youth to share their story and access mental health care through the art and skill of public speaking. Our core programs include:

Monthly Events - It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (IOTNBO) is a monthly community-based program by Storytelling Solutions of America (SSA) designed to break the stigma surrounding mental health through open dialogue, storytelling, and connection. Each session creates a safe, inclusive space where individuals of all ages—teens, parents, and community members—can come together to share their stories, learn practical coping strategies, and build resilience. Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and access to mental health resources, IOTNBO empowers participants to recognize their own challenges, support others, and embrace the message that healing begins with honesty and community.

Annual Youth Mental Health Summit - The Youth Mental Health Summit (YMHS) is Storytelling Solutions of America’s signature annual event designed to empower teens (ages 13–18) with the tools, resources, and support they need to prioritize their mental and emotional well-being. This full-day summit brings together youth, parents, educators, and mental health professionals for a dynamic experience featuring inspiring keynote speakers, interactive workshops, youth storytellers, live music, and community-building activities. The summit creates a safe, stigma-free space where young people can learn practical coping strategies, explore faith and wellness, and build meaningful connections with peers and mentors. Participants also receive access to free resources, meals, swag bags, and ongoing opportunities for support and growth.
