Free Course in Basic Community Emergency Response Training. "Community Emergency Response Teams", CERT- 317, is a course that serves as an introduction to CERT for those wanting to complete training or as a refresher. The program educates citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Basic First Aid training will be offered. Come learn how to build a disaster kit for you and your family during training.
Each participant will be trained in fire safety and learn to operate a fire extinguisher with an active fire to put out as a team. Each day the participates will have hands on learning opportunities.
At the end of training you will earn a certificate and be able to write a communication plan for your family.
