A great example of how fire rehab stations are vital:

On August 24 & 25 2023, Escambia CERT and volunteers set up a fire rehab station at The City of Pensacola Fire Department's physical abilities testing for prospective Fire Cadets. They had to go through rigorous physical tests in the heat with all of the firefighter gear on. Some contestants fell victim to the heat. Our team was able to get them to a safe space and cool them down. We distributed water to each contestant to make sure everyone stayed hydrated. We were able to relieve the stress on the EMTs that were on site, it allowed them to focus on the people who needed medical attention.

Learn lifesaving skills like:

  • Hydration methods

  • Cooling Techniques

  • Record vital signs
