Duties include: Answering multi-line telephone/Greeting walk in consumers of CIL Disability Resource Center with all types of disabilities as well as vendors, service, providers, businesses and caregivers.

This volunteer position is located at the CIL Disability Resource Center (CIL-DRC). The position requires considerable judgment, and independent decision-making. The duties are primary to assist the CIL-DRC staff with miscellaneous duties (cleaning, clerical, scanning files, etc.). The volunteer reports to the Volunteer Coordinator (VC) for assignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Volunteer Duties include and are not limited to the following duties.
- Copying documents
- Scanning documents
- Folding documents
- Stapling documents
- Filing documents
- Numbering documents
- Printing documents
- Cleaning equipment
- Inventory various items
- Stacking items
- Unpacking items
- Opening boxes
- Dusting Shelves
- Shredding documents
- Answering telephone
- Taking out Trash
- Other duties as assigned
PERFORMANCE FACTORS:
- Demonstrate the basic knowledge and experience necessary to produce the results required by the job assignment.
- Practice good personal hygiene skills; dresses in appropriate attire for work setting; overall, general appearance is appropriate for job site, no perfume or fragrance products used.
- Prompt, report to work on time and leave at scheduled time.
- Take a positive and helpful approach toward the public and staff. Responsive to the needs of others. Have a positive work attitude.
- Cooperated with others to accomplish goal(s); interacts well with other volunteers and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Should have good writing skills.
- Should have experience using word processing programs and accessing the Internet.
- Priority consideration will be given to people with disabilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
- Volunteer must provide any physical limitations to VC with volunteer application.
- May be Sitting/Standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting: 5-10 lbs.
- Twisting: at waist when sitting – very limited twisting
- Bending: very limited bending
